Induction Massage Perth

A qualified pregnancy massage specialist will not perform or suggest an “induction massage” as to be honest there is no such thing – unless you have a medical induction (and even those can fail and end up in caesarean or other interventions).

When I hear people talking about “induction massages” or suggesting a woman has an “induction massage” it makes me cringe because that is the very thing we are hoping to educate women on when their health care provider is suggesting induction when there is no medical reason for doing so.

However, there are ways that can help to prepare the mind, body and emotions to sometimes stimulate labour to start naturally.

One of those methods is to have a “labour focus massage“.

It is important to remember that you’re not designed to be pregnant forever, so you can trust your body to do what it is meant to do, when your baby says they are ready to come earthside.

Forcing a healthy baby to come out before they are ready may result in all sorts of complications and interventions, when at that moment in time they are safe, happy and warm inside you.

As with normal massage, labour focus massage helps to relax and calm your body, easing tension and helping to create a clear and grounded space so your mind then recognises that the body is ready to go into labour and starts to release the hormones required to hopefully get things moving – the power of your mind / body connection is very much under-rated.

Labour Focus Massage is a relaxing massage combined with therapeutic and remedial techniques, beautiful essential oils and acupressure applied to specific points of the body linked to the preparation of the body for labour.

A good labour focus massage can help elevate your natural levels of endorphins (your healing and calming hormones) and oxytocin (the hormone your body produces when you are relaxed and happy, in love, making love, when you are ready to birth your baby and it is also the hormone responsible for the intense bonding of mother and baby immediately following birth) and for the release of your placenta.

Please allow two hours for your labour focus massage, where I will go through a full pregnancy and health history and assessment with you, followed by your massage, hypnosis and demonstration and stimulation of the acupressure points. You will also receive a acupressure chart to take home so that you and your partner can continue to stimulate these points at home.

These acupressure points can also be used during labour if things start to slow down or for calming and relaxation and to help your contractions get longer, stronger and closer together so they are working at an optimum level to bring your baby down and out.
