VBAC Workshop for Couples in Perth with Dr Hazel Keedle

Vicki Hobbs from Back to Basics Birthing is proud to be hosting Dr Hazel Keedle with her VBAC Workshop for Couples planning their next birth after caesarean. 

Dr Hazel Keedle is a Lecturer of Midwifery and completed her PhD in 2021 at Western Sydney University, Australia. Hazel has more than 25 years of experience as a clinician in nursing and midwifery, educator and researcher. Her research is recognised internationally and focusses on midwifery practice/education and women’s experience of maternity care. Hazel is passionate about improving support for women during pregnancy, birth and the early transition to mothering.

Your journey to a better birth for women and partners

In this workshop we will cover the the journey from your previous birth to your next birth after caesarean. Starting with understanding your previous birth we explore the evidence surrounding next birth after caesarean and then use the four factors from Hazel’s PhD findings to plan the best birth for you.

This comprehensive workshop is for “couples” wanting to prepare for their next birth together after caesarean.

Workshop plan:

1. Debriefing and birth trauma – review your previous birth
2. What are your options and the evidence behind them
3. Planning for a better birth – Control / Confidence / Relationship / Active labour

Registration is from 8:30am and the workshop will start at 9am SHARP and conclude at 5pm.

There is street parking around the venue, particularly on Seventh Avenue, and the train station car park directly across the road.
