Pregnancy, birth and postpartum practitioner | Educator | Birth coach | Nanna (my greatest joy)
I bring calm, clarity, and experience into birth spaces, along with a deep commitment to supporting women, helping them feel heard, and guiding them through their journey with respect and care.
I’m Vicki Hobbs — a birth coach, educator, and practitioner based in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.
Over the years, I’ve studied a wide range of complementary therapies to support women holistically focussing on the mind, body, and emotions. I know that no two women are the same, so my approach is all about offering choice, flexibility, and care that truly meets each individual where they are.
I’m a fierce advocate for women’s choices in birth, and unwavering in my mission to reduce birth trauma through education, preparation and respectful support. Every woman deserves to be informed, heard, and in control of her own journey. That’s what I stand for, and that’s what I bring into every birth space, every class, and every conversation.
Taking the fear out of birth,
through education, planning and preparation
In 2004, I took a leap of faith, leaving behind a highly paid corporate hospital job to start my own business as a remedial massage and mind-body therapist. I trusted that everything I had worked for and believed in would guide me forward. Like pregnancy and birth, the journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs, each one shaping the wealth of knowledge and experience that underpins my work today.
Building my business around my family has been no small feat, but it’s something I have mastered. I don’t claim to be perfect or to have all the answers, but I am committed to finding them. I take great care in providing evidence-based information, thoughtful guidance, and genuine support, always striving to exceed expectations and offer true value.
Let me be honest, while I love working with women during pregnancy and birth, my focus is not solely on the baby. My priority is the woman, the mother. My approach goes back to basics, ensuring she feels nurtured, safe, respected, and heard, because when a woman feels supported and cared for, she is better able to move into motherhood and care for her baby after birth.
Not long after starting my business, I recognised a gap… there were no properly trained pregnancy massage therapists in Perth. That realisation led me to further my training and become a highly qualified Pregnancy Massage Specialist. As I worked with more women, I found myself naturally sharing body and birth knowledge during their massages and was often invited to their births. The next step was clear: I trained as a Childbirth Educator and Doula. What started as a seed of passion grew into a thriving tree – strong, wise, and offering shelter and support to those who seek it.
Today, my work is centred around education, preparation, and informed choices, helping women approach birth with confidence, free from judgment or guilt, so they can embrace their pregnancy and birth with strength and self-assurance.

I have a strong commitment to studying and researching, which allows me to offer women balanced, evidence-based resources and knowledge, while also valuing the importance of holistic practice to support their mind, body, and emotions, because they are all deeply intertwined. Combined with my own experiences and wisdom, I aim to help women feel safe, supported, and fully prepared for their transition into motherhood.
