General information

These Terms and Conditions apply to all services, courses, workshops, training programs, and products offered by Back to Basics Birthing.

By booking, enrolling, or purchasing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Services provided

Back to Basics Birthing offers education and support services including, but not limited to:

• Childbirth education
• Hypnobirthing classes
• Doula training and mentoring
• Pregnancy and postnatal support services
• Workshops, events, and online programs

All services are educational and supportive in nature and are not intended to replace medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Acknowledgement and assumption of responsibility

By enrolling in any Back to Basics Birthing program, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You are participating of your own free will
• The programs are designed to support you in using your own natural abilities to bring your mind and body into a state of relaxation
• The information provided is general in nature and not a substitute for professional medical advice

You acknowledge the importance of seeking guidance from a qualified healthcare provider for any pregnancy, labour, birth, or postnatal concerns.

Release of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• You agree not to hold Vicki Hobbs, Back to Basics Birthing, or any of its representatives liable for any circumstances arising from your pregnancy, labour, birth, or postnatal recovery
• This includes participation in any classes, workshops, training, or services

Liability is excluded except in cases of proven gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Furthermore:

• You agree that neither you, your birth partner, nor any family member will initiate or pursue any claim, demand, or legal action against Vicki Hobbs or Back to Basics Birthing, now or in the future, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct

Bookings and payments

• Full payment is required to secure your place
• All fees are in Australian Dollars (AUD)
• Bookings are not confirmed until payment is received in full

Cancellations and refunds

Courses and training programs

• All payments are non-refundable
• Transfers to a future training date may be requested
• Transfers are subject to availability and approval

Workshops and events

• Tickets are non-refundable
• Tickets may be transferred to another person with prior approval

Services (consultations, sessions)

• Minimum 48 hours’ notice required to reschedule
• Payment for products, services and appointments to be paid in advance
• Late cancellations or missed appointments are forfeited and no refund will be provided

Rescheduling and changes

Back to Basics Birthing reserves the right to:

• Reschedule dates
• Change delivery format, including moving to online delivery
• Substitute facilitators if required

Intellectual property

All materials provided by Back to Basics Birthing, including but not limited to course content, handouts, videos, recordings, written resources, and online materials, remain the intellectual property of Back to Basics Birthing.

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, distribute, or share any materials
• Use any content for your own teaching, training, or business purposes

Online course access

Where access is provided to an online course or digital platform:

• Access is granted to the individual purchaser only
• Login details must not be shared with any other person
• You must not allow others to view, access, or use the course content through your account
• Course content must not be downloaded, recorded, copied, or redistributed in any format

Unauthorised sharing or distribution of course content may result in:

• Immediate termination of access without refund
• Further action where necessary to protect intellectual property

Participation and conduct

Participants agree to:

• Maintain respectful behaviour
• Respect confidentiality within group settings
• Follow facilitator guidance

Participants may be removed without refund for inappropriate or disruptive behaviour.

Disclaimer

While all care is taken:

• No guarantees are made regarding outcomes
• Information provided is for educational purposes only

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Back to Basics Birthing is not liable for:

• Any loss, injury, or damage arising from participation
• Any indirect or consequential loss

Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with privacy obligations and will not be shared without consent unless required by law.

Media consent

Photos or videos may be taken during sessions:

• Consent will be requested prior to sharing for marketing and social media
• You may opt out at any time

GST

Fees are subject to GST under Australian law.

Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia and its States and Territories.

The interpretation of these Terms will not be affected by which party drafted them.

Agreement

By enrolling in any Back to Basics Birthing service, you confirm that:

• You have read and understood these Terms and Conditions
• You agree to be bound by them
